How to change clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing on 1986 ford aerostar?

it is a major job that involves having a full set of tools, a rolling floor jack, a clutch pilot tool, a good place to work on it with a concrete floor.

a quick, not complete, description: disconnect battery, jack up vehicle and block it up. remove starter. remove driveshaft, remove shifter, remove clutch pedal linkages, remove transmission crossmember, remove transmission, take clutch plate and pressure plate off of flywheel. install new clutch plate and pressure plate, put on new TOB. next replace everything in reverse order.

___

do not attempt it, unless you have someone to help you that has done it before. installing a transmission is a MF'er, if you have never done it before.
